Partners for Education, Agriculture, and Sustainability (PEAS) at Cunningham Elementary

Slim's elementary school is creating a community farm. Check out this short video explaining the project that was created by the parent responsible for getting the ball rolling, along with the school's principal.

I can't even begin to say how excited I am about this. There are so many clear benefits to the kids, they will have access to healthy, locally-grown food + see first hand how food is grown for starters. The farm will act as a lab for science, economics, and health lessons, but there is also a plan for the farm to be available to the broader community as a hub for home gardens and will provide classes and "edutainment."

More information and an opportunity to help the school reach their $4500 goal to get the farm started can be found on the PEAS at Cunningham website.
